This is a photo of a tropical, bird of paradise flower taken in front of Pismo Beach, California on a sunny day in September 2014. The beach shore is 110 stairs down the cliff so I squatted in a flower bed with my back against a tree at our Inn in order to take this photo and get the ocean, sky, and wharf in the background.
